I apologise that this topic has been discussed before, but I cannot find the solution.

I see on the excellent 43F site that it’s possible to set up a QS trigger that will send text to the kGTD Inbox. Now, I’ve worked out how to use the QS interface to make this happen (invoke>text entry>tab>kGTD Inbox action>return), but I cannot work out how to build the trigger that Mr Mann shows on his site (http://www.flickr.com/photos/merlin/59702993/) to automate the process.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

And I have to say: what a life-transforming paradigm kGTD is. Thanks.

Figured it out

This was bugging me too, but I figured it out!!
Here is how to make it work:
1) Create a new trigger
2) in the first pane start in your home folder and navigate to the KGTD inbox script (Library->Application Support->Quicksilver->Actions
3) hit tab (the middle pane should be (process text)
4) leave the third pane empty

Click Save and assign a key combo and you are on your way. Happy Happy Joy Joy

This is great. Simply…. works

If you want to do old-school

If you want to do old-school quicksilver you can just ring up the quicksilver window normally and the kGTD Inbox action should show up as your quicksilver “verb”. Trigger are of course nice for all you keyboard cowboys and cowgirls out there ;)

missing the Joy

OK, I have the QS trigger defined.
Looks just like the MerlinMann display did.
Assigned it to CMD-ALT-F12.
And QS is in Beta mode.

When at the keyboard, I hit this trigger key combo.
Then a new blank entry shows up in my OO Pro KGTD InBox.
But I don’t get a chance to type any text first.
Isn’t that the way it’s supposed to work?

Figured it out

OK, I found what was wrong, it wasn’t obvious to me:
- Open QS Preferences.
- Select Triiggers on left side.
- Click “+” for new trigger.
- Type “KGTD” to navigate to the script.
- Hit Tab.
- Hit Save.

Then define the trigger key sequence by clicking the lozenge to the left of the Trigger column of the new trigger.
I found it helpful to click the checkbox called “Display: Show Window”.
It allows me to edit the text that will go into the InBox.

sweet

i was also wondering about how to do this too after i saw it on 43F. i followed n4ty’s instructions and it worked great - thanks (except when i typed kgtd it did not work, i had to navigate there as per mrodkey. the path of course is ~/Library/Application Support/Quicksilver/Actions/ (you can type ~ in qs and it puts you to the user folder). i am using command-shift-k as my hotkey.

I have a Quicksilver trigger

I have a Quicksilver trigger working now to open an Inbox window, but it ends up in something called “InBox” under Projects, instead of in the KGTD Inbox. How can I fix this?

Thanks,

GuestZ

where do i get the actions from

Hello

I’m using QS and kgtd 0.75 but I don’t see any folder named “actions” in ~/Library/Application Support/Quicksilver. Do I need to install them from somewhere?

i think i know.

you can just create a folder called Actions in the Quicksilver subfolder. I’m fairly confident that’s true.
