I know it’s a violation of GTD orthodoxy, but I prefer to keep business and personal tasks separate. Because I might need to perform personal tasks at work (take medication, mail a letter, steal pens, etc) it’s not enough to have separate contexts— I need separate systems.

So, what happens if I have more than one KGTD doc. Will it work? Or will the scripts get confused and possibly alter or examine the wrong document?

I am willing to forgo iCal sync in one of the two, though for bonus points it would be nice to have both sync to distinctly named iCal calendars.

What’s the verdict?

what can't you figure out?

what can’t you figure out? it should work fine, even the ical syncing to separate calendars

I agree with yesteray ... we

I agree with yesteray … we all have just one life, so one KGTD file should cover it. [I’m not a fan of compartmentalizing into work/home, anyway.]

What you can do, though is arrange your contexts (in the Inspector list)so the Action page shows all your work activities together. You might, say, begin all work-related contexts with $, so they sort together. If you want, you can also arrange your projects this way, too.
